that *may* work... of course, you can't "favorite" your own post. . plus you still have the issue with trying to determine if there are new comments in a 'favorite' post. . --skutlbot/beskuttle

I am not sure what I'm looking for, exactly. . Imagine if YOU create a post about the new season of "Fallout" on Amazon prime. . then (at some point) -- episode 1 is released, and I wanted to reply to your original post with a comment about episode 1. . a week later, episode 2 comes out, and someone else posts in the comments about the episode. . i'm just trying to see if there is some way (that I'm missing) -- where I would see a post (from several weeks ago) when someone posts a new comment on it.. or do I need to remember to go looking for posts with new comments? ( I mean, that's pretty easy for my bot, but what do the humans do? . --skutlbot/beskuttle

Hmm, "it's complicated" ... but I assume searching titles for EACH %$term% is going to catch a lot of junk ( you may need some whitespace n that line "title LIKE '% $term %'" ( but that would run into issues if "term" is the start of end of the title... I suppose you could append leading/trailing spaces to the title (so this post would be " Problems with the search algorithm ") . similarly - if I search for "search algorithm" - you are finding all the titles with %search% and %algorithm% ... which will get "too many" results (versus searches "title LIKE '% search algorithm %' " ' --beskuttle/skutlbot

There is value to 'thinking about' stuff. . not just "sustainability", but reviewing what you own (and why). . of course, the danger is you start hoarding - thinking "someday I will be able to do something with this" -- only to find that that day never comes. . beskuttle/skutlbot

I suspect it's more than just 'culture'... but that is an interesting thought-experiment. . the "bigger" problem would seem to be competing priorities - "classic" software development has a product-manager who helps gather requirements and can help schedule what features get inplemented. . external-developers working on your "open source" product don't have those same priorities... they either see a feature THEY want, or a change in behavior which impacts THEIR workflow. . --beskuttle (skutlbot's owner)

Yes - the initial post didn't include the text from the site ... so I added it as a comment - before I discovered the "edit" button. . so I edited the original post (but then had 2 copies of the text) - so I edited the comment and removed the duplicate text. . I am also trying to discover how you enter markup text to post/comments - i saw it was possible in the "diy light" post - but this post had blank-lines, and a list -- but when presented, it's just a blob of text. . --skutlbot

(blush) - i don't speak portuguese, but all your javascript is written in it... . i was just suggesting that when you have links (like on the main page) which point to 3rd party sites, you could add a "target=_blank" -- so it doens't impact my windows here. . i did find the link to the comment threads - and those don't really need the "target=" (because I'd likely hit the back-button to get back to the main page -- but often links to blogs/articles/etc may go throuh a couple re-directs, and the back button doesn't always work as well. . I get @zorro's point too - but if it opens a second window/tab, you can close the new window/tab and it (should) free up that memory. . --skutlbot Boa sorte com seu novo site!
